A Teenager in the 60's
John, Paul, George & Ringo. I don't
think there will ever be another event like the arrival of The Beatles.
Early 1960's we "ratted" our
hair in huge bouffant styles.
The "flip" was really popular.
My first ratted hair was done by
another girl in the Jr. high cafeteria.
I remember sitting in the
hairdresser chair for hours while
she ratted my hair and made
huge curls anchored into
place by 10,000 bobby pins.
At the end of 60's, early
70's my best friend & I went
to a British hairdresser
to get the popular
Toni Tennille look.
The Bay of Pigs, laying in
bed at night scared to death.
Landing on the moon. I was
in Canada that day.
All our boyfriends
drafted to Vietnam.
Hippies. No, I wasn't one.
Never understood their culture.

Now worth more than most of
us paid for our homes.
In the Pacific Northwest back in
1968 we wore "Squaw Boots".
Oh yes, I had one of these fake
leopard coats in the 60's. Wouldn't
be caught dead in one now !!
Those horrible bell bottoms.
